Wide Bay South Interschool Chess Tournament Term 3
Hosted by Tinana State School on Wednesday 10th August 2016, the Wide Bay South Interschool Tournament was a successful event for Tinana.  There were 77 students in the Primary Division on the day and High School students numbered high as well.  Tinana had 17 students participate, with four teams and just about everyone winning at least one match! I was extremely proud of the behaviour (all the YCDI keys to success were displayed), effort and encouragement shown on the day!
We won a shield for being the HIGHEST SCORING SCHOOL in the Wide Bay South Primary division.
1st place in Primary School division went to Harrison Fraser who won all his 7 games!
Tinana Team 1 (Isaac Rufus, Charli Beazley, Harrison Fraser & Maverick Pappin) placed 1st as well! State Finals here we come!
Merit ribbons for 4.5/7 games won were awarded on the day as well.  Students that received  merit ribbon were Maverick Pappin, Isaac Rufus and Harrison Fraser.
As we always say: "Don't be afraid of losing, be afraid of playing the game and learning nothing"
