Welcome to the Tinana State School community. We believe in the value of a well-rounded education for your child; one that develops your child’s academic, social-emotional and physical capabilities. We cater for students from Prep to Year 6. Our teaching teams are implementing the Australian Curriculum applying high expectations and standards to our learning. Students are encouraged to live our motto 'Do Your Best'.
Tinana State School has grown from a small rural school on the outskirts of Maryborough into one of the larger schools in the city. Through that growth, we have tried to maintain the 'small school' feel as evidenced by leafy surroundings and the friendly atmosphere of the school. We aim to provide your child with a safe and supported environment for learning. We deliver the 'You Can Do It' Social-Emotional Learning Program throughout the school.
In addition to our strong academic focus, we offer a range of programs. Our instrumental music program (Concert Band and Strings) offers students the opportunity to learn an instrument and to participate in a range of performing groups and competitions. We offer a range of school sport opportunities for students to experience and compete at representational levels.
We have the support of an active Parents and Citizens’ Association who regularly meet and provide input into the direction of the school. Our P&C has been supportive of a range of resourcing initiatives to enhance learning for our students. As an Independent Public School, Tinana State School also benefits from the input of a School Council.
I encourage you to visit the school and see what the Tinana school community has to offer. I look forward to meeting you and thank you for considering Tinana State School for your child.
