Learning@home

PublishingPageContent

Learning@home refers to the ways schools will maintain teaching and learning in the event of a prolonged school closure or student absence. The Department of Education has a number of online tools and resources to support students.

Curriculum resources are available for students to complete at their own pace. Students may require support to read and understand instructions.

The resources provided here are a sample of activities that can be printed and are designed as a support tool for students to continue their learning and engage in familiar activities essential to their learning and wellbeing.

Additional online resources are available through the Learning Place website using students log in. This is the same logon and password that students use to log onto the computers at school. This information was sent home with students via a letter or emailed to parents.

All Queensland state school students and staff can now download multiple free copies of the Microsoft Office 2016 suite to their personal home computers and mobile devices. You can choose to install Office 2016 or upgrade from Office 2013.

About the TSS online learning environment

Principal's Message

In response to the COVID-19 health pandemic, our school has initiated new ways for students to learn from home in circumstances where they cannot access the school site. A range of curriculum materials have been developed to assist students to access their learning program from home. In our school, we have established OneNote Class Notebooks to support student learning and access to these materials. Students have been invited to their class pages by their teachers in readiness for learning in term 2.

Online Platform

OneNote

Microsoft OneNote is software used by teachers to create digital notebooks that can be shared with students.  These digital notebooks:

  • can be distributed to students intermittently as content and activities are developed
  • enable teachers to collaborate with students
  • enable students to collaborate with each other; and
  • enable teachers to see and provide feedback on the work being done by students.

Gaining Access

  • Teachers email a link to students that have been added to their Class Notebook.
